Who is Jack Rock?
Christo Ivanov, performs under the stage name of Jack Rock and frequently works alongside DJ Balthazar another well-respected Techno DJ producer.
Together they have been producing and releasing multiple collaborative records including their debut “Rockin Dancefloor” in 2006, and Moonshine in collaboration with Kobbe which was well-played amongst the top Dj fraternity. They released over 30 tracks and remixes for labels like Bosphorus Underground, Neurotraxx, Land Of Voodoo, and more.
In addition, their dance music agency – Renesanz is immensely popular in Bulgarian circles having over 150 international artists and DJs perform under the Brand.
Keeping alive old school underground, Christo now co-owns one of the oldest Bulgarian venues for electronic music- “Comic Club”.
The Bulgarian Techno DJ is an energetic melodic techno artist whose music ranges from progressive house to electro and at times influences of progressive trance grace his performances.
1. What’s the first thing you do for inspiration when you get into the studio?
Jack Rock: Solid mug of coffee, browsing and tweaking the machines to achieve a sound that rings our senses. After that, the flow comes by itself.
2. Favorite or newest piece of hardware/software in your studio?
Jack Rock: The newest one is Vermona Perfourmer mkII. Really badass girl! Recently also enjoying Waldorf Blofeld. This little buddy can do wonders.
3. One synthesizer you wish you owned
Jack Rock: The vintage Waldorf Q is No. 1 in the wish list

JackRock: Logic
5. Newest audio technology you’ve heard of?
Jack Rock: Really excited about the new series of Elektron. Also, that Splice thing is a pretty useful tool.

Jack Rock: Sadly the times for really intriguing websites are over, so mainly the usual ones – SoundCloud, Facebook… Balthazar though is passionate about traveling all over the globe so he is into thousands of travel forums and sites.
