I’ve been using the CDJ 350 for over three years now, and was impressed to find that this compact version has many of the same features. And if you’re a digital DJ, the CDJ 350’s software compatability will be a great advantage.
What Is It?
A much smaller version of its predecessors, the CDJ 350 is a durable and easily portable CD player that offers some of my favourite features – Playlist, Software Compatibility, Vinyl Scratch Mode, and BPM Lock – in a lightweight exposure.
Who’s It For?
Ideal for a bedroom-practice; immensely portable to a club for performances.
Style
Compact and classic; small LED screen.
Usability
The CDJ 350 has flawless software compatibility and works perfectly with Traktor, Rekordbox and Serato. The jogwheel could have been smoother, but you can adjust to it with some practice.
The Upside
Small and powerful: doesn’t compromise on quality or features. Its compact size is a major plus, making it easy to carry and even easier to store.
The Downside
The CDJ 350 lacks a link cable, so you can’t use one music library on two CDJs – you’ll have to make separate libraries and use an extra USB stick. The LED screen could have been larger and less cluttered.
Final Call
The CDJ 350 may not be able to replace the CDJ 900, but given its affordable price tag, wide range of features and sturdy construction, it’s a pretty amazing product.
