1. What’s the first thing you do for inspiration when you get into the studio?
Richie Santana: My inspiration comes from three sources, in no particular order. Sometimes it’s from listening to some of the latest promos or new sample packs, but of late I’ve been finding lots of inspiration from some new analog hardware kit. When I get in the studio, I usually like to listen to a lot of music or listen to some sample packs.
2. Favorite or newest piece of hardware/software in your studio?
Richie Santana: I’ve been busy this year acquiring new toys! Here are my favorites: Dave Smith Pro 2 , Elektron Rytm, Electron Analog 4, Roland TR8 , Mfb Tanzibar, Moog Minitaur.

Richie Santana: Alesis A6 Andromeda

5. Newest audio technology you’ve heard of?
Richie Santana: I’m very excited for the release of Elektron Overbridge, which combines the best of both worlds – analog and digital.
